A makeover for the entire hotel: Maritim Hotel Stuttgart renovated

After 22 successful years and several partial renovations, it was time for the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart to undergo a thorough makeover: all 555 rooms, the bathrooms, the kitchens and the conference rooms are being renovated.

Tuesday, December 01, 2015.

“By the end of the year, most of the work will have been completed,” promises Markus Schuetzdeller, manager of the Maritim subsidiary company, Reinhardt und Sander, entrusted with the renovation.

Beige and anthracite are the colours that have been chosen for the wallpaper, blinds, carpets and coverings. The bathrooms, which feature the latest in bathroom technology, are decked out in dark-brown granite. The work will be carried out by German artisans, focussing on quality and a tight schedule.

How does the owner think the work is going? He only has positive things to say. The hotel manager, Alexander Buck, thinks that the new outfit of his hotel is “exceptionally smart”. Guests love it, too.

The guests have always loved the central location of the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart, just a short distance from the city centre, and appreciate the view of the idyllic Hoppenlau park. For events planners, the historic indoor riding arena and the neighbouring culture and conference centre, the Liederhalle, are particularly important.

At a glance:

The modernisation of all the living areas in the rooms is complete; and for the most part, the work on the bathrooms in the park wing, the public areas, the meeting rooms and the rotisserie and Reuchlin restaurants is finished, too. The renovation work – which includes the underground car-park – is set to continue until August 2016. By then, all the bathrooms will have been renovated.

The Maritim Hotel Stuttgart is located in the west side of the city. The Königsstrasse – Stuttgart’s shopping mile and one of the longest pedestrian zones in Germany – can be comfortably reached by foot in just a few minutes. The Hotel has a direct, underground passageway to the culture and conference centre, the Liederhalle.
