Maritim is starting off the season in Malta with a freshly renovated hotel

Extended and modernised: the Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa Malta in the picturesque north-west of the island

The Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa Malta has not only been fully renovated, but has also had another two floors added. “This means we can meet the gradually increasing demand,” says the General Manager, Peter Rieks, to explain the construction work undertaken.

Malta / Bad Salzuflen (Germany) - Thursday, February 11, 2016.

The Maritim Hotel in the picturesque location of Mellieha now offers 220 rooms instead of the previous 170. “At the start of the 2016 summer season, I'm delighted to be able to present our guests with the new spacious and elegant feel of our hotel,” continues Rieks.

It's not only the rooms that have been fully re-designed. All public areas, such as the lobby and restaurants, have been given a fresh, brighter new look. The gardens and outdoor areas have been redeveloped, the spa area has been fitted with a new sauna, and one of the highlights is the new open-air restaurant on the roof terrace of the nine-storey building. During the summer months, the Antonine Al Fresco offers a unique atmosphere in the open air, spoiling the guests with Asian-inspired cuisine.

Another real highlight is the two new penthouses on the 8th, floor, each with their own Jacuzzi on the terrace.

The “new” Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa Malta is starting the new season in April, and will be offering its guests an exclusively designed spa area with a sun deck, a steam bath, a sauna and a fitness room, as well as a heated indoor swimming pool and a whirlpool. There are also two outdoor swimming pools: one in the middle of the gardens and one on the roof of the hotel, with a stunning view of the sea. A wide range of beauty treatments and massages are available for extra relaxation.

From the Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa, one can enjoy an amazing view of the Mediterranean, right across to the well known islands of Gozo and Comino. The hotel is located in the peaceful north-west part of the island, which is the perfect starting point for trips to the historic and cultural highlights of the island: six millennia of varied history have left their mark here.

During the summer months, those guests who prefer to relax on the beach instead of going sightseeing can take the free shuttle bus from the hotel to the fine-sandy beach, just 1,000 metres away.

The freshly renovated Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa Malta will spoil the guests with the culinary delights offered by its four restaurants: the main restaurant, Les Jardins; the Al Ponte bistro and restaurant; the new open-air restaurant, Antonine Al Fresco; and the gourmet restaurant, The Arches, which is just opposite the hotel: The Arches is one of the most renowned addresses for gourmets on this Mediterranean island. The wine cellar alone has 252 different splendid wines from all from all over the world. An aperitif or digestif is best enjoyed in the 120 Bar, the Maltese/English pub with an outside terrace on the ground floor of the hotel.
